Answer them honestly. No need to generate MFR. They know you'll be applying for a non-rated board.

For the questionnaire, is it better to leave the rated board questions blank? Or answer them honestly and generate MFRs that state I have no intention to apply for a rated board because I am too old?

FM 56 still has several portions that are hand written signatures only. You have a few blocks to initial, the commander does, and the commanders final endorsement.

I'm sure most LOR's are wet signed.

Application Profile I will probably wet sign.

Questionnaire's I think are better off with digital signature.

I have been meaning to ask about that. The new BOT guide doesn't say it needs hand signatures. So which document needs wet signatures and which one are digital signatures acceptable? The BOT guide just states that if the file for each packet is too big because of digital signatures to just label the file name with the standard Lastname Firstname app number (1 or 2).pdf. Does that mean they no longer require hand signatures? It honestly does not matter to me since my squadron commander is personally signing everything by hand and she is hand walking my LOR to the wing commander for a wet signature since people like to lag the electronic routing process now.

Yes make sure you are scrolling through the whole TFOT guide. It has directions for each section, and the majority of it is done on a computer minus the initials of the 56 and the few hand signatures.

Lots of information you asked for so I'll just give you a quick run down. Feel free to request for more details of an information.

BOT packet: I filled mine out strictly on computer since it gets routed up the chain of command via sharepoints and with the signatures/dates half in pen and half digital signature.
Majority of the packet is in PDF that already has all the fields, maybe you are not opening it right?

AF Form 56 is in EPUBS like every AF forms. I always go to EPUBS just in case a form is not up to date.
Essay- Which one? I did not even know there was an Essay due. There is the LOR, Interview portion, and Objective/desire to commission statement.
Commander's Portion- Again, which one are you talking about since there are multiple spots for the commander to sign/date.

Hey,

So I already got input from one person but I wanted to ask the group as a whole.. how are you guys filling out your forms? One said with pen, another said strictly computer input. There's no firm guidance (that I can see) and I can't seem to use a program that allows me to properly input information into the pre-existing fields. It just doesn't look proportionate. If anyone has any input in regards to the program they filled their forms out with, or whether they did them partially by hand, it would be greatly appreciated!

Also, the most recent BOT guide for AD seems very thin compared to the last time I looked at it. Where is the AF Form 56, the essay and commanders portion? Was it substituted with the "Application Profile Template"?

Best of luck all, crazy Super Bowl last night!
